Sunny Anderson - Cooking for Real
Food Network On Demand
Due to the fact that there is very little on VOD related to cooking, I had to go back to Sunny and give her another shot. I feel like she and I started off wrong with the baby vomit rice and I already know everyone else so well. So Sunny's got some finger food recipes that could go over sexy depending on the mood for Valentine's Day. And how can you go wrong with empanadas and stuffed potato puffs? That's what we call romantic in this house.
Already I can tell Sunny is excited about this meal, no repeatsey nerves like before. And she just shouted out Bayridge Brooklyn! 718 in the house! Okay, empanadas. Onions, chillies, garlic, etc. Sunny sounds like she's a frugal. She wants to feed an army on a dollar and she likes street food because it's cheap. I'm with you, Sunny! All I have is a dollar and a Valentine meal dream!

She just grabbed an army of spices to throw in that basically is curry in Bayridge. Got it. Basically dump your spice rack in a pan. Add beef. Corn (ahh - the vegetable that stays whole) and cheese. Butter and sazon for the pastry part. Ice cream soup the meat into some premade dough. Nice. Nice. I feel like I can do this. Like I could open my own stand later. Do these go with strawberry bellinis? Why not? Berry shortcake dessert? Okay!
I was with her until we got to stuffed potato balls. She said a little effort but she's done a lot of steps when I come back from daydreaming about the empanadas. The jist is mashed some potatoes, add chicken and peppers, ball it up, dip in potato flakes, deep fry. She IS related to Paula Deen! What if Paula Deen is Sunny Anderson and she's trying to take over the world? Escandalo!
We'll see which recipe I choose out of the small selection of VOD Food Network offerings though I feel really good about empanads, bellinis and berry shortcake. Really REALLY good.
